About Me

Hello and welcome — I’m Theresa Schlosser, the founder of Premeditated Health.

If you’ve ever felt like something was off with your health but couldn’t quite put your finger on it — or tried to do the right things and still not gotten the results you expected — I want you to know that I understand that feeling personally. Not theoretically. From the inside.

My story didn’t start in a classroom.

It started with a cloud lifting.

I was working with a counselor and had been identified as having low-level depression. When I mentioned it to my chiropractor, he suggested fish oil. I was skeptical — but I tried it. Once I got consistent with it, it was like something shifted. The heaviness I’d been carrying started to ease. That experience planted a seed: what we put into our bodies has more power than most of us realize.

Then came the back pain.

During a particularly stressful season of life, I developed severe low back pain that didn’t respond to treatment. After weeks of chiropractic care, it became clear my body was stuck in a chronic pain pattern — sending out distress signals for something that wasn’t actually there anymore. While working through that, my chiropractor introduced me to the idea of reducing inflammation through diet. One suggestion was to eliminate gluten.

I didn’t act on it right away. It took a couple more years — and stumbling across a copy of Living Gluten Free for Dummies — before I finally committed to trying it.

What convinced me to stay committed? Cheat days. Every time I cheated, my knee pain came back. My hip pain came back. My body was giving me undeniable feedback, one flare-up at a time. Eventually the evidence was too clear to ignore.

I thought I had the food thing figured out.

I had learned how to eat in a way that kept my blood sugar from spiking. I wasn’t having crashes. I felt like I was doing pretty well — until some lab work told a different story.

What I found out stopped me in my tracks. My blood sugar markers weren’t where I thought they were. And there was more going on beneath the surface that I hadn’t known to look for.

Here’s what I’ve learned since then: health is rarely as simple as one number or one symptom. Lab values can be influenced by things you’d never think to connect — other imbalances in your body quietly skewing the picture. The more I’ve learned, the more I’ve come to appreciate how interconnected everything is. Blood sugar, inflammation, stress, hormones — they don’t operate in separate lanes. They feed each other.

I’m still on this journey. My markers are improving, and I’m learning more all the time — about inflammation, about insulin resistance, about how targeting one often means addressing the other. I don’t share this because I have it all figured out. I share it because I know what it feels like to think you’re doing okay and discover there’s more to the story.

Why I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner

All of these experiences — the fish oil, the gluten, the lab work, the ongoing learning — pointed me toward the same truth: what we eat profoundly shapes how we feel. And most people don’t have access to that information in a way that’s clear, practical, and actually useful.

I completed my certification as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) through the Nutritional Therapy Association — a rigorous program grounded in whole food nutrition, physiology, and the foundational patterns that drive so many common health complaints. I founded Premeditated Health with one goal: to be the guide I wish I’d had.

What I believe

I believe your body is trying to tell you something. I believe the connection between what you eat and how you feel is more direct than most people are told. And I believe that when you finally connect those dots — when the pattern clicks into place — everything starts to make more sense.

I’m not here to diagnose anything or hand you a one-size-fits-all plan. I’m here to help you understand what’s happening in your body, give you practical tools to work with, and walk alongside you as you figure it out.

Let’s connect

If any part of my story sounds familiar — if you’re tired of feeling off without a clear explanation, or you’ve tried things that haven’t gotten to the root of what’s going on — I’d love to talk.

A free discovery call is always the first step. No pressure, no commitment. Just a real conversation.
